What is Deskie?
Deskie is a web desktop, currently in beta stage. Through Deskie you can make a list of links you find most useful, and have them appear as your homepage every time you open a new tab or window. This means faster browsing and a better homepage for all who are cool enough to use Deskie.
Is Deskie safe to use?
Deskie is currently in beta stage of testing, meaning that it is suitable for day to day use as your homepage, but some features may not yet be switched on, and the occasional glitch might be present. If you do come across a problem, please contact us with details ASAP at support@deskie.com, and we'll do our best to iron out any problems, post haste!
Deskie does not store any personal information, except for that which is provided by you as links and customisations. Once a link pointed outside Deskie.com has been clicked, no further information about your browsing will be collected by Deskie. Deskie is not responsible for the content of pages linked to beyond the Deskie website.

Why does Deskie change?
From time to time, new sites will be added to the default desktop, and others removed, to help promote websites we think may benefit users, as well as to raise revenue for the site. Some popular icons, like Google are indefinetly set in their spot, making life easier for the large number of people who use such sites.
If you would like to avoid these occasional icon changes, you can sign up and create your own deskie, where you can choose the icons that will appear on your desktop when you visit Deskie. You can also use the public address for your deskie (www.deskie.com/your_username) so you can visit your deskie no matter where you are, and share your deskie with others.
How do I make Deskie my homepage?
If you are running Internet Explorer, simply right-click on the Deskie desktop, and choose 'Make Deskie Home'.
If you are using Firefox simply drag this image:
onto the home icon on the Firefox toolbar to make Deskie.com your homepage. To make your custom page home, open up your custom deskie page in a new window. In the menu at the top of the window, click 'Tools', then select 'Options...' and under 'Main' select 'Use Current Pages', then 'OK'.Can I customize Deskie?
To customize Deskie with a different colour, background image and icons, you'll first need to sign-in to Deskie, or if you're a new user, create a new account. Once you have done this, you can right click on the Deskie desktop, and choose 'Customize' from the menu to change backgrounds and settings. To add a new icon to your Deskie desktop, right click on the desktop and choose 'new icon', then fill in the required details. You can either provide and image for deskie to use as an icon, or let deskie search for one itself.
Can I share my Deskie with others?
To access your, or any other user's deskie you can use the address: http://www.deskie.com/username. When a Deskie is opened this way, no changes made to the desktop will be saved, keeping your settings safe from mischief.
